Desirable Criteria
I have a commitment to working bilingually. In my roles across West Wales, I have ensured that key content is accessible in both Welsh and English. This approach has helped strengthen engagement across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, and Pembrokeshire, and demonstrates my commitment to inclusive communications.
I bring knowledge and understanding of the Church in Wales through my personal connections and community involvement. Growing up in the Church and now participating in family services and local events at St Mary’s in Newport, has given me insight into the Church’s role in supporting communities, particularly in rural areas where isolation is a concern. Combined with my professional experience in the charity and third sectors, I have an understanding of how faith-based organisations operate within complex social contexts.
I have experience contributing to sensitive communications. At Foothold Cymru and Keep Wales Tidy, I have managed urgent media enquiries and challenging narratives, always ensuring messaging is accurate, respectful, and aligned with organisational values. I am confident in assessing what actions to take and when to seek guidance or second opinions, enabling a collaborative approach to decision-making. This allows me to handle complex situations calmly, effectively, and in partnership with colleagues and senior leaders, ensuring the best outcome for the organisation and the communities it serves.
I also have experience with video production and editing for digital platforms, creating content to support campaigns, storytelling, and awareness-raising initiatives. Additionally, I understand Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) principles and apply them practically within content and website management to improve visibility, reach, and engagement.
Throughout my career, I have supported colleagues by mentoring and training in communications, social media, and content creation, helping them build confidence in delivering clear, consistent messaging. I enjoy sharing knowledge, supporting professional development, and fostering collaborative, skilled teams that can deliver effective communications across multiple channels.
